Build a basement, surround it with air pipes. Circulate air from garden/outside to down below to cool air. Then circulate it back to house to have a cooling effect without air con. The same system can warm house during winter too.

This is a church being built in Kepong, this is the typical traditional building techniques but wasteful in both materials, equipments and skills. Basically its a carry over from western architecture that is NOT suitable locally.

I am looking for materials like this that can support high roof with just one piece of poll.

even bricks like this. I am just interested to learn what are the pro and cons of each building materials, its strength, characteristics etc.
Metal beam like this should be the most straight forward materials but not necessary suitable for residential
Roof top as less clutter as possible ...
